How much does a professional organiser cost in london
If you've landed here, chances are you're weighing up whether to hire some help and, understandably, the first question on your mind is what it's going to cost. It's one of the most common questions I get asked, so let's talk it through properly.
What organisers typically charge
Most professional organisers in the UK work on an hourly rate, and at the time of writing that averages £45–£100 per hour. But the hourly figure only tells you part of the story. Before you book anyone, it's worth checking whether there are additional costs on top — things like travel, parking, or a separate fee for sourcing and buying storage products. These extras can quietly add up, so I always think it's fairer (and far less stressful for you) when they're dealt with upfront.
How I price things at Curate My Space
I don't believe in one-size-fits-all pricing, because no two homes, or clients, are the same. Here's how it actually works when you book with me:
Every project starts with a complimentary consultation. This is where I get a proper feel for your space, your goals, and what "organised" actually looks like for you. From there, I put together a recommended package of hours, so you know exactly what you're investing before we start - no surprises, no vague estimates once we're halfway through your airing cupboard.
I'm based in Crouch End but happily travel across London, and I don't charge travel costs for anything within Zones 1–3. If you're further out, any travel charge is agreed with you before booking, never added on afterwards.
What actually affects the price
A few things tend to move the needle on cost more than anything else:
The size of the job. A single "cupboard of doom" is a very different project to a full house declutter, and I'll always be upfront about how many hours I think something realistically needs.
Decluttering vs. organising vs. both. Some clients know exactly what they want to keep and just need it organised beautifully. Others need help making decisions about what stays and what goes first that's a more involved (and often more emotional) process, and it factors into the time required.
Whether you're present. If decluttering is part of the plan, I'll need you there for the decisions as they're yours to make, not mine. If it's purely organising an already-edited space, I'm happy to work independently, which can sometimes make things quicker.
Is it worth it?
I'll be honest the cost of hiring a professional organiser is almost always cheaper than people expect, and the return isn't just a tidy cupboard. It's the time you get back, the mental space that comes with it, and systems designed around how you actually live, not a generic Pinterest board. Most of my clients are genuinely surprised by how much we get through in a short space of time together.
And if you're nervous about someone seeing your space in its current state — please don't be. I promise you, I've seen it all, and if everyone were naturally super organised, I wouldn't have a business. My clients' homes are always treated with complete respect and confidentiality, and as a member of the Association of Professional Declutterers & Organisers (APDO), I work to their Code of Ethics at all times.
